The Xone:S2 is an installation DJ mixer for use in clubs and bars, and by professional mobile DJ's. It is a 19” rack-mounted 4U mixer, available with either linear or rotary VCA channel faders, and features 4 stereo dual-input channels, 2 mono mic/stereo line channels, a USB audio interface, and boasts many features to both enhance the DJ's performance and aid the installer. Xone:S2 represents the ideal package for club installers as it has a multitude of features designed to integrate it into a typical PA system. One of the key features is an output limiter system that enables the engineer to preset the maximum output level of the mixer, irrespective of input level. The main mix outputs are on balanced XLR, and an additional mono output, also on XLR, can be used as a zone feed or can be used to feed a sub-bass stack. A dedicated alarm input mutes all music channels when active and there is also a dedicated alarm message audio input connection. An additional stereo input (RCA) is accessible on the front panel - enabling guest DJ's to patch in music sources without having to gain access to the rear connectors. Two high quality mono/mic or stereo channels are included, and there is a booth monitor and music ducking facility. The Xone:S2 is offered with either linear or rotary faders, which are fitted on a removable panel making it is possible for venues to purchase the alternative panel and easily interchange between fader types without having to remove the unit from the rack, as required by the visiting DJ. The Xone:S2 is equipped with many performance tools for DJ's. Each of the four main stereo channels is equipped with a flexible 3-band equalizer providing a safe +6dB of boost and total kill for complete frequency isolation. Individual channels can be routed to either side of the high-quality VCA crossfader with adjustable curve control for smooth constant level mixes or virtually instant attack suitable for scratching. The Xone:S2 is also equipped with the legendary Xone filter system, allowing each of the four main channels to be individually routed to the filter. The filter can also be connected to outboard equipment, or can be patched into the mixer insert point for global filtering of the main mix. Three separate headphone sockets are provided, and a split cue allows the cue signal to be monitored in the left headphone and the main mix in the right. Uniquely on a mixer of this type, the Xone:S2 is equipped with a USB audio interface enabling easy integration of digital media. The USB interface can be used for playback and recording to or from the Xone:S2 and a computer, or used with appropriate software to act as a hardware effects unit. The Xone:4D utilises a USB 2.0 soundcard which is now in production in the Xone:2D and which offers much greater capability and flexibility over the previous version. The Xone 4D will do everything that the 3D could do, and more. It will enable DJs to greatly extend the capability of their digital setup, e.g. by running 4 simultaneous decks in Native Instruments Traktor, or by being able to achieve genuine multi-track recording of their sets in applications such as Ableton Live or ProTools. The new 4D should soon be given Traktor Scratch approval by Native Instruments, enabling full compatibility with their encoded vinyl system. The Pioneer CDJ200 CD player combines the well known features Pioneer have offered with their other models and the facility to allow the DJ to play MP3's as well. Since the Pioneer CDJ200 is fully MP3-compatible, aspiring DJs can now include the very latest downloaded tracks in their sets, without having to convert the audio from other formats. The MP3 functionality also allows DJs to locate tracks more quickly (via Folder Search) and to see the name of the disc, artist and song on the unit's bright dot-matrix display window. This screen also has a bar graph showing the elapsed and remaining playing time of a track, plus an Auto BPM Counter, giving DJs the real-time information they need to create better mixes more quickly. The unit has a tempo read-out too, as well as a separate Master Tempo button with 3 settings for locking the pitch of a track as its' sped up or slowed down. The unit uses an electric-blue light at strategic locations to give the DJ constant feedback on the status of the CD and the effects in use. The light above the CD-slot, for example, shows that there's no disc on board and also guides the DJ to the user-friendly quick-load slot. With the disc inserted, that light goes off and a blue illuminated ring appears around the edge of the Jog Wheel - indicating that a CD is loaded and ready for playback. An established highlight of Pioneer's Pro DJ CDJ players, the Jog Wheel can be used to speed up or slow down the music, to fine-tune cue points manually, or to control the mix with the help of another proven feature, the Digital Jog Break. This has three effect buttons (Jet, Zip, Wah) for creating original sounds as the DJ manipulates the Jog Wheel. When the Digital Jog Break is on, the blue ring flashes quickly. Once the HOLD/RESET button is used, the flashing slows down. With the effects off, the continuous blue light returns. The Pioneer CDJ1000 mk3 CD player offers the same robust build beloved by club owners and DJs, is finished in the familiar high-quality polished look and remains faithful to the clean, clear layout that has become the accepted format for tabletop CD decks. The Pioneer CDJ1000 mk3 has full MP3 support including VBR files, intelligent features, such as the direct folder search button, allow DJs to quickly access files within folders on the disc for intuitive, fast cueing. A total wide tempo range (+70% to –100%) also gives greater control than many competitor models. Along with multimedia cards, SD cards are now also compatible with the Pioneer CDJ1000 MK3 so that HOT CUES, HOT LOOP points and WAVE display data can be easily stored and loaded. The Pioneer CDJ1000 MK3 includes a unique JOG feeling adjust (to the top right of the JOG wheel). It tailors the deck to performers' individual styles by altering the resistance of the wheel, which benefits from a new metallic 'non-slip' finish. The visibility and detail of the information shown on the 360° JOG Display is also improved: the fluorescent display has been raised, increasing brightness. The cue marker is larger and new 45° angle marks make it easier for scratch DJs to time their effects. The track display has similarly advanced.
